Directions from Edinburgh Centre:

Private cars are no longer allowed to drive on Princes Street, so use Queen Street or George Street.

Follow sings for A8 (this is the easiest route) Glasgow

Drive out of the city following signs to Airport. Drive past Airport to Newbridge roundabout. At Newbridge roundabout get into the lane marked A89 at traffic lights.

At second set of traffic lights get into lane marked B7030.

Turn left, then immediately left (signposted East Calder and Adventrue Centre)

Drive for 4 miles to traffic lights at Wilkieston, then turn right onto A71 for a quarter of a mile.

Turn right onto B7015 (signposted Camps and East Calder) for 1 mile. Ashcroft Farmhouse is on the right, and the B & B sign and house are floodlit if you arrive after dark. Drive past the very large new house which has recently been built next door to us.

Directions from Glasgow and the West:

Come off M8 at Junction 3

Take 1st exit at the roundabout onto A899 Livingston Road for 2.7 miles

Bear left onto B8046 at Lizzie Brice roundabout to Midcalder

Drive through Midcalder to East Calder

Drive through East Calder

Ashcroft Farmhouse is on the left hand side of the road 500 yards after the 40mph sign, and the sign and house are floodlit if you arrive after dark.

Directions from the north of Scotland:

Go over the Forth Road Bridge and go up the slip road on the left to traffic lights.

Turn left to next roundabout, go straight over this roundabout and stay on this road until yuou reach Kirkliston at a set of traffic lights.  Go straight through the lights and stay on this road until you come to another set of traffic lights at a T junction (A89).  Turn left to traffic lights, straight through to traffic lights at Newbridge roundabout.  Turn right to next set of traffic lights and stay in left hand lane marked B7030.

Drive to the next set of traffic lights and again get into the left hand lane marked B7030. Turn left, then immediately left again (signposted East Calder /Industrial Estates) and drive for about 3 miles, until you reach a set of traffic lights at Wilkieston.

Turn right onto the A71 and drive for a quarter of a mile, then turn right onto B7015 (signposted Camps and East Calder) for 1 mile.

Ashcroft Farmhouse is on the right hand side of the road, and the B & B sign and house are floodlit if you arrive after dark. Drive past the very large new house which has recently been built next door to us

Directions from the south and east of Scotland


From Carlisle and the west -

Drive north on the M6 to its end and onto the A74 and M74. Stay on the M74 until it joins the M73.

Drive onto the M73 and stay on this motorway until it joins the M8. Drive eastward on the M8 and then follow 'Directions from Glasgow and the West' above.

From Newcastle and the east -

Drive north on the A1 or A68 until you reach the A720 City bypass.

Drive onto the A720 and stay on it until you see the slip road for Calder Junction A71. Drive up the sliproad to traffic lights, turn left onto A71 and drive for 5 miles, through traffic lights at Wilkieston.

A quarter of a mile after Wilkieston, turn right onto the B7015 (signposted Camps and East Calder) for one mile. Ashcroft Farmhouse is on the right, and the B & B sign and house are floodlit if you arrive after dark. Drive past the very large new house which has recently been built next door to ours.

Situated in the Heart of Scotland, Ashcroft Farmhouse is easy to find, no matter what mode of transportation you use, but please feel free to telephone to ask for directions.
